The Milton Citizens Government Academy, an eight-week course that gives residents an in-depth look at municipal government, is taking applications for the session starting Jan. 28, 2020. CITY OF MILTON

Milton is accepting applications for its fourth Citizens Government Academy, an eight-week course that provides participants an in-depth look of the many functions of municipal government.

Classes will meet from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Jan. 28 at City Hall and other government buildings. Classes are limited to 15 Milton residents or business owners at least 21 years old. Registrations are due by Dec. 31. To register: https://bit.ly/373qgRT

"Through a combination of presentations and hands-on projects, participants will learn about vital community services including emergency services, law enforcement, planning and zoning, finance and budget, court systems, public works, special projects, parks and recreation, and more," according to a city web page.

“Most importantly, participants will have the opportunity to connect with their local officials and city staff who provide these services.”
