The city of Milton has decided to make the former Milton Country Club swim facilities open to the public and available for use by swim teams, including the Milton Mustangs.

The city of Milton purchased the country club for $5 million in January, transforming the 140 acres from private to public open space.

The pool will be open to the public from May 26 to Sept. 4. Pool users can choose between paying the $5 daily fee or purchasing a season pass.

Efforts to make the pool accessible to the Milton Mustangs swim team come as the 2018 swim season kicks off on May 14.

The team has 66 members registered for the current season. To join, swimmers must pay the $140 fee, 15 percent of which goes to the city of Milton.

Repairs to the pool have been completed by the city, and the pool will be open every day May 26 to Aug. 5, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. It will also remain open from Aug. 6 to Sep. 3, Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and weekends from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The facility will be managed and supervised daily by Dynamo Pool Management, and three lifeguards will be on duty each day the pool is open.
