A second Georgia Tech student has died following a north Georgia wreck that killed one classmate and seriously injured another, the Georgia State Patrol said Tuesday.
The three friends were traveling in a 2010 BMW on Ga. 136 in Pickens County when the vehicle left the roadway on a curve, struck an embankment and overturned around 4:30 a.m. Friday, Gordy Wright, GSP spokesman, told the AJC. All three were trapped in the vehicle, Wright said.
A passenger in the car, Naren Raghuraman, 21, died at the scene. The driver, Ratheesvar Mohan, 20, of Atlanta, and another passenger, Daniel Bernard Hickman, 21, of Atlanta, were flown to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment.
Hickman died Monday evening, Wright said. Mohan remained hospitalized Tuesday, but his condition was not immediately known.
All three were wearing seat belts at the time of the wreck, Wright said. Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor. ALEXIS STEVENS
