The Livable Communities Coalition's Fair Share for Transit initiative is assembling its own suggested project list for next year's transportation sales tax referendum, recommending which projects should make the final cut and what portion should be for transit. The Atlanta Regional Commission's "first pass" list, totaling $12.2 billion, had 54 percent of the funds going to roads and 45 percent for transit.

Coalition Director Ray Christman said transit should comprise around 60 percent, with the Clayton commuter rail and parts of the Gwinnett light rail line restored. His group's list should be released later this week or early next week, he said. JOHNNY EDWARDS

Gov. Nathan Deal raised more than $500,000 in his first six months in office, according to campaign finance reports filed with the state ethics commission Friday.

Deal ended June with more than $400,000 in cash on hand.

For the six months beginning Jan. 1, Deal spent nearly $190,000.

Deal, like other state officials, was barred by law from raising money while the Legislature was in session from mid-January to mid-April.
