A Villa Rica man has been sentenced to three years in prison for illegally exporting weapons sights and parts used to assemble M4 rifles, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Beginning in 2008, Andrew Vincent O'Donnell, 33, sold more than 50 weapons sights to a customer in Hong Kong through an eBay online store, prosecutors said. In 2009, he also sold rifle parts to a customer in Japan, arranging to have the parts shipped through a third party to make the sale look legitimate, the office said. O'Connell pleaded guilty to the charges in February. BILL RANKIN
