The Fulton County Board of Assessors voted Thursday to start mailing corrected tax assessment notices on June 11. Chief Appraiser Burt Manning said that's the earliest they'll go out, and he's not sure if all 230,000 will be sent at once. Whatever date is printed on them, property owners will have a new appeals deadline 45 days later.

Fulton is re-mailing about 70 percent of its notices after Atlantans received inflated tax bill estimates, caused by a formula error. The board opted to spend about $140,000 sending new notices to Atlanta and nine cities whose estimates didn't include municipal taxes. JOHNNY EDWARDS

The Internet auction of items from Ted Kaczynski's Montana cabin was to end Thursday with the familiar gray hoodie and sunglasses and the Unabomber's hand-written manifesto bringing more than $20,000 each.

General Services Administration regional administrator Shyam Reddy said it could be a day before GSA knows how much money the auction raised for the victims of the Unabomber's 16 bombings. Bidding started May 18. The items were stored in Atlanta.

Kaczynski's journals and his manual typewriter also were popular. Photos of landscapes and news articles used for his research were in demand the least. RHONDA COOK
