The YWCA of Northwest Georgia announced Wednesday the launch of its Square Foot Campaign. The organization needs $1.6 million to have $7 million to renovate and expand its facilities, serving victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Georgia Cancer Specialists, a private cancer treatment and research practice, will hold its tenth annual Totes 2 Tots backpack and suitcase drive for foster children on today. Twenty-five Georgia offices — including 17 in metro Atlanta — will participate.

Since it started in 2003, Totes 2 Tots has distributed more than 25,000 bags with help from the state Division of Family and Children's Services.
