A DeKalb County grand jury has indicted a Medicaid contractor and charged her with computer theft, invasion of privacy and identity fraud, the state Attorney General's Office said.

Romona Ferrell-Davis, who worked for Hewlett-Packard, which had a contract with the Georgia Department of Community Health, accessed the Medicaid Management Information System and changed the bank routing and account numbers of four Medicaid providers, the Attorney General's Office said. She then allegedly diverted about $8.8 million to pre-paid debit cards she controlled.

With the help of debit card companies, the Department of Community Health recovered all but $17,533 of those funds, the Attorney General's Office said.
