Marietta Sanitation expanding pickup service

Marietta's Sanitation Division will now pick up special items from residential garbage customers, including air conditioners, bicycles, appliances, carpet, chairs, toilets, couches, mattresses and TVs.

A fee will be charged. For example, the fee is $20 for an appliance, $10 for a dresser and $5 for a bicycle. A full list of charges can be found on the city Web page, www.mariettaga.gov.

Customers need to submit a request for pickup of the special items. The request can be found on the Web site.
