Cobb County police say a 24-year-old Marietta man was responsible for seven home invasions or robberies, including four on the same day.
Police had previously charged Barry Lee Henderson in two incidents. On Wednesday, they connected him to five more.
Henderson is charged with multiple counts of armed robbery, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary and criminal trespass. He’s being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
On Aug. 7, Henderson was arrested at the Ivy Ridge Apartments in Marietta on loitering and prowling and criminal trespass charges. Investigators soon linked him to July 27 incidents at the Madison Hills and Bentley Ridge apartment complexes.
A hammer-wielding Henderson entered a Madison Hills apartment around 3:45 a.m., police said. One female resident barricaded herself in her room, while another jumped out a second-story window.
Around 5:30 a.m., Henderson, still armed with the hammer, approached a woman outside the Bentley Ridge apartments and demanded her purse, police said. She handed it to him, and Henderson fled, police said.
Henderson also was responsible for two more incidents the same day, at Madison Hills and the Bentley Ridge Condominiums, police said. They also have charged him in incidents that occurred Feb. 19 at the Wood Hollow Apartments, June 24 at the Woodchase Apartments and July 24 at the Kenwood Creek Apartments.
