The Marietta City Council agreed 6-0 on Feb. 12 to increase the salaries of six assistant prosecuting attorneys.

Councilwoman Michelle Cooper Kelly was absent.

Instead of an hourly rate of $150 per session, the hourly rate per session now is $225 and not retroactive for these appointed independent contractors.

Assistant prosecuting attorneys are Robert Donovan, Thomas Griner, Latonia Hines, Donna Merrell, Robert Schnatmeier Jr. and Jason Treadaway.

Likewise as appointed independent contractors, four associate judges will be paid an hourly rate of $250 per session and not retroactive.

Associate judges are Joan Bloom, Lawrence “Larry” Burke, Melinda Taylor and Nathan Wade.

In other business retroactive to Jan. 1, annual salaries set by the City Council include:

  • $228,259 for City Manager William F. Bruton Jr. with his contract effective through Feb. 8, 2023
  • $143,208 for Board of Lights and Water (BLW) General Manager Ronald J. Mull
  • $80,018 for City Clerk Stephanie E. Guy
  • $72,883 for Municipal Court Judge Roger J. Rozen with his term effective through Jan. 12, 2022
  • $69,306 for Prosecuting Attorney Ben F. Smith with his term effective through Jan. 12, 2022
  • $53,560 for Administrative Assistant to the Mayor Elizabeth S. Kelley
