Marietta High School students performed well at the 2012 SkillsUSA state leadership and skills competition.

Senior Kadijah Brookes came in first in culinary arts, and fellow senior Amber Ufere was first in a commercial banking competition.

Both will compete at the national skills championships in Kansas City, Missouri, in June.

Marietta High's 3D visualization and animation team of Antony Willoughby and Edson Ezquivel was second.

SkillsUSA competitions emphasize excellence in employability and occupational skills. More than 4,800 Georgia high school students participated in the skills competition.
