A man who police said fired at and chased people near Turner Field with a pump shotgun faces multiple charges in the Friday incident.

Cordricus Anderson, 22, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, reckless conduct, criminal damage to property and simple battery, according to Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones.

Anderson, who has had run-ins with the law in the past, was being held in the Fulton County Jail on Saturday and his bond has been set at $2,000.

The incident began about 6 p.m. near Georgia Avenue and Martin Street, a few blocks east of Turner Field, as thousands of baseball fans were converging on the stadium for Friday night’s nearly sold-out game between the Braves and the Chicago Cubs

"A male was chasing several people with a pump shotgun and shooting at them,” said Atlanta police spokesman Officer John Chafee. “The male was apprehended; no one was injured."

Anderson has been in and out of jail since 2009.

Fulton County jail records show he was arrested June 11, 2009 and charged with aggravated assault and released two days later on June 13 on $10,000 bond.

On May 30, 2010 he was arrested and charged with gambling and obstruction, and he was released May 31 without bond, although bond had been set at $1,500 after the arrest.

On Jan. 16 of this year, Anderson was arrested on multiple charges, including disorderly conduct, forgery and obstruction, and was released Jan. 17 after posting $1,200 bond.
