DeKalb County police were investigating a Labor Day shooting that happened inside a convenience store near Lithonia.

The shooting happened around 1 p.m. Monday at the QuikTrip in the 7200 block of Rockbridge Road.

DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish told Channel 2 Action News that the male victim was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Police were still interviewing witnesses at 2:30 p.m. and had released no further information about the victim or what led to the shooting.
