The man pretended to be a parent, wanting to enroll his child in the southwest Atlanta preschool. But what he did next was no child's play, according to police.

The man told the daycare worker it was a robbery and appeared to reach for a weapon before alleging grabbing a woman's purse and running out of building, according to an Atlanta Police Department report obtained by the AJC.

The suspect entered a room with children at the Sylvan Hills Preschool Academy, on Allene Avenue, before running out, police said.

Another employee in the preschool was able to call 911 while the man was still in the building, but officers were unable to locate the suspect after arriving at the scene, the report states.

No one was injured in the heist, which occurred 8:45 a.m. March 28, and police are hoping a sketch of the suspect will help lead to the man's capture.

Witnesses described the man has being between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall and with a slim build, according to police. His eyes were light brown or hazel, and he was wearing a black hoodie and a tan cap at the time of the alleged armed robbery.

Anyone with information about the case or suspect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
