Georgia Tech police are reporting an armed robbery that happened just off campus late Thursday afternoon.

According to a Tech police crime alert, the victim, who was not affiliated with the school, was walking on Tenth Street near Center Street, near the northern border of campus, when a blue Nissan sedan stopped and the male passenger asked the victim if he knew where he could purchase Atlanta Falcons tickets.

"The victim informed the suspect that he did not know, and the vehicle turned north onto Center Street," the crime alert stated. "The passenger exited the vehicle and pointed a black handgun at the victim and demanded his wallet and his MP3 player."

The suspect got back into the vehicle and was seen headed east on Tenth Street.

The suspect was described as black, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He had shoulder-length dreadlocks and was wearing a black skull cap with a Falcons logo and a red and black Falcons jacket.
