A man found dead inside an abandoned school building in southeast Atlanta Friday afternoon apparently died of natural causes, according to Lt. Keith Meadows who heads the Atlanta Police Department's homicide unit.

Originally APD had reported the person discovered inside the school house at Charleston and Sawtell Avenues was a woman. That was based on the initial report to APD, Meadows said.

Meadows said, once on the scene, it was determined the man had several medical problems and one of those most likely contributed to his death. "It was not a homicide. It was a natural death,"  Meadows said.
