Man dies in early morning house fire in McDonough

An unidentified man was killed early Thursday in a house fire in McDonough, authorities said.

At about 7 a.m., Henry County and McDonough fire crews found heavy smoke and fire at the single-story residential structure at 21 Ward Street, Henry County fire officials said in a media release. The victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
