A Marietta man has been jailed on charges that he stole $138,000 from his 78-year-old grandmother, who is in a nursing home, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Paul Ericson Flowers, 32, is being held in Cobb County Jail on charges of theft by taking and abuse of the elderly, according to Cobb County Sheriff’s records.

Investigators told Channel 2 that Flowers withdrew the money from his grandmother’s bank account over about a year’s time.

An arrest warrant was issued for Flowers on Friday, and he was taken into custody Saturday, jail records show.
