Man’s body found outside Buckhead bar

Body found at Buckhead bar

A Buckhead bar owner made a grisly discovery when he arrived at his Peachtree Road business Tuesday morning.

A man’s body was found about 8 a.m., tangled in security grating at the bottom of a staircase leading to Moondogs, a second-floor sports bar and dance club in the 3100 block of Peachtree Road, Atlanta police said..

“It appears that the subject may have been trying to make entry into the business while the business was closed, and during the process of that, somehow got entangled in a security gate and was trapped around his neck,” Atlanta police Capt. Paul Guerrucci said.

He said the man, whose name has not been released, was apparently asphyxiated.

“The actual cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner, but at this point, we don’t feel that there are any signs of foul play,” Guerrucci said. “It just appears to be an accidental death as a result of this individual trying to make entry into the business.”

The Medical Examiner’s Office hadn’t released the man’s name as of Tuesday night.
