Prevent Blindness Georgia will hold a lunch and learn program about age-related macular degeneration at the North DeKalb Senior Center at noon June 16.
The luncheon program will be held at the center, which is located at Senior Connections, 5238 Peachtree Road in Chamblee. Prevent Blindness Georgia will also distribute flyers to Senior Connections Meals on Wheels recipients in Atlanta and Macon.
AMD affects the vision of more than 180,000 Georgians, who are age 50 and older. The disease usually begins as a loss of central vision, which affects the ability to read or see fine details. The loss progresses as time goes one.
