Three Henry County schools were placed on lockdown Friday morning after a student at one of the schools allegedly made a threat on social media.

“Luella High School, as well as Luella Middle and Elementary, due to their proximity, went into precautionary soft lock down this morning for about an hour due to a threat made by one of the high school students against the high school,” Henry schools spokesman J.D. Hardin said.

“During that time, police presence was in the area, while other officers searched for the student,” Hardin said in an e-mail to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“That student has since been found and the lock down has been lifted,” Hardin said just before 10:30 a.m.

Hardin didn’t release details of the threat or identify the student.
