The Lawrenceville City Council recently approved the use of asset forfeiture funds to purchase blue lights and equipment for two new police Tahoes. The blue lights and equipment purchase will cost $21,959 and installation of the equipment will run $3,050 for a total of $25,009. The work goes to the lowest of three bidders, West Chatham Warning Devices of Savannah.

Asset forfeiture funds are proceeds collected as the result of criminal activity. The funds result from seizure of cash, real estate, cars, weapons or other equipment.
