The Lawrenceville City Council voted recently to approve a special use permit that will allow for the expansion of a used car sales lot at 395 Buford Drive. Used car sales have been at this location since about 2007. The current property owner, Clint Dixon, demolished the principal structure and proposes to reconfigure the parking for more vehicle inventory.

Approval came with 13 conditions outlined by the city’s planning department including the area where cars will be parked must be paved, and must remove all paving that is in the right-of-way other than the access driveways along Industrial Park Drive and Buford Drive. In addition, all vehicles must be parked in designated parking spaces and the owner must install a minimum four-foot wide sidewalk with a two-foot landscape strip adjacent to Buford Drive and Industrial Park Drive along the property frontage.

The property owner will also install street trees and evergreen shrubs to meet city standards.
