Lassiter counselor charged with sexual battery
A 17-year-old girl is accusing a former Cobb County high school counselor of fondling her breast and private areas over her clothes, according to the arrest warrant.
The arrest warrant, issued against Frank Robinson, 45, of Lithia Springs, was released to the Atlanta Journal Constitution on Sunday.
"The accused did intentionally make physical contact with the intimate parts of the body of a 17-year-old female without her consent," states the warrant, adding that the "victim backed away," asking what was he doing?
The incident reportedly took place in Robinson's office at the school.
A six-year employee of the Cobb school system, Robinson worked at Lassiter High School in Marietta. He resigned earlier this week in lieu of termination, according to Jay Dillon, school system spokesman.
He turned himself in Saturday morning, and was later released on $5,000 bond, according to jail records.
Robinson, who also coached basketball, faces one count of sexual battery for the Dec. 8 incident, said Cobb County police spokesman, Joseph Hernandez. The student's family contacted school officials, who turned the matter over to Cobb police.
Anyone with additional information about Robinson is asked to call the Cobb police Crimes Against Children Unit at 770-499-3900.
