The Kennesaw State University Symphony Orchestra will travel to China later this month for a three-concert tour.

The orchestra, which includes 75 students, will perform in Beijing and Xi'an from Dec. 31 to Jan. 7, officials announced this week. They are scheduled to perform a piece by Chen Yi, a Chinese composer, as well as works by Leonard Bernstein, Tchaikovsky and John Williams.

Besides performing, the students are scheduled to observe an elementary school music class, attend a Chinese opera and learn how music is studied in China.
