Several administrators at Kennesaw State University are getting new roles to fill three openings, college leaders said Wednesday.

Provost Lendley Black will leave July 12 to become the chancellor at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Ken Harmon, dean of the business college, will serve as the interim provost. The associate dean of the business college, Kathy Schwaig, will serve as interim dean.

Larry Peterson, dean of the science and math college, stepped down Wednesday. Following a one-year leave, he will return as a professor in the chemistry and biochemistry department. Ron Matson, the biology and physics department chair, will serve as the college's interim dean for for two years. Jerald Hendrix, a biology professor, will become the interim department chair.

Joe Head, dean of admissions, has retired. Kim West, a former university registrar, replaces him.

The university will conduct a national search for a new provost and dean for the college of math and science.
