Kennesaw, homeowner reach agreement
Robert and Barbara Pritchard will pay Kennesaw $10,000 to keep from having to demolish a 100-year-old house they own on Moon Station Road. The homeowners agreed to pay the city after they sell the property. The city’s Historic Preservation Commission will use the money to stabilize and restore other run-down structures in the historic district. After the city condemned the delapidated house in September, the city fined the Prichards $213,000 and told them to raze the house. The council rescinded the fine in December and reached an agreement Monday that allows the homeowners to pay a lesser amount of $10,000.
