Kennesaw donates to Cobb Safety Village
By Andria Simmons
Feb 1, 2011The City of Kennesaw and its police department recently purchased two electric cars for road safety education at the Cobb Safety Village.
A replica of the old railroad depot in Kennesaw also will be constructed and used for railroad safety instruction. The depot should be operational this spring.
The Safety Village is a child-size representation of Cobb, complete with scaled-down models of buildings with signs, streets, traffic lights and homes. Four distinct areas teach children how to react when faced with fire, crime and disaster emergencies, drug and alcohol awareness and pedestrian safety.
