The Kennesaw City Council voted unanimously Monday night to approve a voter referendum on whether or not to allow alcohol sales on Sundays. The 5-0 vote means that Kennesaw becomes the latest in a string of metro Atlanta communities to put the question on the ballot as to whether or not to allow stores to sell alcohol on Sundays. The referendum is slated to go to Kennesaw voters on Dec. 20. The state Legislature approved such referendums on the local level after a five-year fight over the issue. Gov. Nathan Deal signed the bill into law in April.
