A Mississippi man who came to Clayton County after Hurricane Katrina said Monday he wasn't the shooter, but that he set up the robbery and shooting of a Jonesboro teen for his car rims, according to the Clayton News Daily.

Joseph Jerome Dedeaux II, 21, of Gulfport, Miss., pleaded guilty in Superior Court Monday to aggravated assault. He faces 15 of 20 years in state prison, Clayton Chief Assistant District Attorney Erman Tanjuatco told the newspaper.

Dedeaux said he set up the plot with another Katrina evacuee, Dominic Trent Stacey, to rob Andrew Todd Gibby, 19, of the wheel rims on his 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.

In November 2006 Gibby was shot behind the Lovejoy Publix as he tried to get away. He died of his injuries when his car went over the edge of an embankment and into a retention pond. Daniel Thomas Smith, 18, a passenger in Gibby's car, was also shot, but survived.

Stacey, 22, is being held without bond in the Clayton County Jail pending trial in his case.
