It's just going to get colder

Prepare to stay bundled up. The freezing temperatures are going to be here a few days.

"We're going to stay cold most of the week," said meteorologist Brian Lynn with the National Weather Service. "This air mass isn't going anywhere."

The next few days will be dry. But there's a slight of chance of snow later in the week, Lynn said.

Sunday's high is expected to be 32 degrees.

Blame the clear skies for the big drop, said meteorologist Jessica Fieux.

The low overnight Sunday and Monday morning will be around 18 degrees in the city and slightly lower outside Atlanta. The high temperature Monday is expected to be 32 degrees.

By Monday night and Tuesday morning, the suburbs around Atlanta  will have temperature readings in the single digits -- the low is expected to be 8 degrees. In Atlanta it will be a little warmer, 17 degrees, as the city holds onto the heat more than the outer areas.

All the while, the high winds over the next few days -- 20 to 25 mph -- will make it feel colder. The normal high temperature for Atlanta this time of the year averages between 50-52 degrees, Lynn said.
