Authorities arrested two men accused of fatally shooting a man outside a Lithonia gas station a day before Thanksgiving, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday in a news release.

Monty Marquies Nelson, 24, and Richard S. Pierre-Hayes, 35, both of Stone Mountain, each face a felony murder charge in connection with the Nov. 22 shooting death of 20 year-old Traveon Quandarius Smith, DeKalb sheriff’s office spokeswoman Cynthia Williams said.

According to DeKalb authorities, Smith was shot multiple times in the back and head outside the Citgo gas station on 301 North Stone Mountain Road. Family members of Smith have started a GoFundMe for funeral costs. By Tuesday afternoon,  the family raised $1,233 of their $10,000 goal.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has contacted DeKalb County police for more information but has not received a response.

Surveillance video at the gas station captured the shooting, Williams said.

Pierre-Hayes and Nelson remain in the DeKalb County Jail.
