One judge from Georgia, another from Florida and a third from Illinois will hear Georgia's high-stakes appeal on March 9 in the tri-state water case, the federal appeals court in Atlanta said Tuesday.

The members of the three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals are: Stanley Marcus, a member of the court from Miami; R. Lanier Anderson, a senior judge on the court from Macon; and visiting judge Richard Mills, a senior U.S. District Court judge from Springfield, Ill. The panel will consider Georgia's appeal of a judge's ruling almost two years ago that found it illegal for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to draw water from Lake Lanier to meet the needs of more than 3 million metro residents.
