Police in Johns Creek are searching for two men who they say robbed a Johns Creek woman in her driveway earlier this month.

The victim, a 35-year-old woman, was coming home from work in Duluth on Sept. 9 and pulled into her driveway in a gated community off Technology Circle near Cauley Creek around 10:30 p.m. That’s when, according to a police report, two armed men approached her.

The victim told police that both men were wearing all dark clothing and black masks. Police told Channel 2 Action News they believe the suspects got into the community by tailgating, or closely following, a car that had the key code for the gate.

According to the police report, the victim did not speak any English.

“We went back to the car and opened the hood and a car pulled up,” the woman says through a translator on the 911 call obtained by Channel 2. “Two guys (came out). One with a pistol, the other with a long rifle and robbed us. They took my purse, wallet, everything. Both of them were wearing a mask to cover their face.”

The police report says that the men opened the doors of the car and told the woman to “take everything out.” The men stole the woman’s handbag, which contained $210 in cash and several credit cards. The suspects left in a dark colored sedan, police said.

The police report says there are no cameras at the front gate of the community and that no neighbors witnessed the crime. Seven police officers responded to the scene.
