Johns Creek roadwork to cause delays
The Georgia Department of Transportation is planning a series of weekend road closures in conjunction with the project widening Old Alabama Road from Buice to Medlock Bridge roads in Johns Creek.
GDOT officials said one lane on Old Alabama will be shut down from 8.a.m. to 5 p.m. each Saturday until Nov. 14, so that Georgia Power crews can install and change over new power lines. Slowdowns are expected.
The $3.9 million project is expected to finish by the end of 2016. The work also includes major improvements to the intersection of Old Alabama and Medlock Bridge roads.
