John Lewis to speak at Strayer graduation
U.S. Rep. John Lewis of Atlanta will be the keynote speaker this Saturday at the commencement ceremony for Strayer University.
Lewis, an icon of the civil rights movement and a former chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), will address the nearly 850 graduates during the event being held at the Georgia Dome.
Many of the university's students are working adults who attend one of six campuses across Atlanta. The university also has campuses in 17 other states.
