Authorities are looking for thieves who find their victims on Craigslist, set up meetings, then run away with the merchandise, Atlanta police said Tuesday.

One such theft was caught on video, and police hope the public will help identify the suspects.

Last week, a couple selling an iPad on Craigslist was contacted by someone interested in purchasing it. The individual requested a meeting in the 2700 block of Defoors Ferry Road, according to a police report.

While the man's wife recorded the meeting on her cellphone from inside the couple's car, the two suspects took a brief look at the iPad, then ran off with it.

"I showed them the iPad. They asked to see it. They asked me to take it out of the box. Then they ran away," Enrique Santiago told Channel 2 Action News.

At least five people have had their Apple products stolen in the same manner in that area, Channel 2 said.

In the police report, the suspects were described as two black males, ages 18 to 22, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. One was wearing a black polo shirt and blue jeans, while the other was wearing a gray Adidas T-shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information on the case should call Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
