The mild weather isn’t going to last.

Temperatures have been warmer than average for much of the first month of the season, but a cold front will bring more fall-like weather, Channel 2 Action News meteorologists report.

Metro Atlanta hit the high of 78 degrees Sunday afternoon, Channel 2 meteorologist Katie Walls said.

But that high drops to 70 degrees on Monday, when thunderstorms are forecast.

“It’s not so much the rain today I’m worried about,” Walls said, “It’s tonight into tomorrow.”

The heaviest rain Monday is expected midday, but the morning commute will be affected, Walls said.

While rain is not forecast through the middle of next week, breezy, cool and partly cloudy conditions are expected. Temperatures will stay in the 60s, according to Channel 2.
