For the second time in just over a month, a vacant metro Atlanta commercial building has been broken into by teenagers who then set up an indoor skateboarding park.

The most recent incident happened Saturday in Alpharetta, where police arrested two adults and three juveniles.

According to Alpharetta police, the five, whose names have not been released, broke into a vacant building in the 1400 block of Alpharetta Highway that was formerly an automobile dealership and set up a skate park. The suspects also extensively damaged the property, according to police.

In neighboring Cherokee County, six teens were arrested on April 7 for breaking into a vacant commercial building on Main Street in Woodstock for the same reason.

Woodstock police Officer Randy Milligan said the teens “had unlawfully entered the building and set up a makeshift indoor skateboard area while at the same time causing extensive damage to the interior, windows, fire extinguishers and furniture.”

Those teens, all either 15 or 16, were charged with criminal trespass and loitering, and released into the custody of their parents.

Last week, thieves broke through the ceiling of the Ambush Boarding Company in Kennesaw and made off with $10,000 in skateboards, video cameras, sunglasses and clothing.
