The Holly Springs City Council has amended its liquor ordinance to allow brewpubs.

The business would have to obtain a brewpub license allowing the production of up to 10,000 barrels of beer in a calendar year for retail sale, on the premises, in draft form. The license holder also would be allowed to operate an eating establishment as the sole retail outlet for its beer.

The licensee could offer alcoholic beverages from other manufacturers, provide they are purchased from a licensed wholesaler for consumption on the premises.

The brewpub could sell up to 5,000 gallons a year of its own production to licensed wholesale dealers; under no circumstances could it sell direct to a retailer.
