A Powder Springs man died Sunday when a car struck his motorcycle on Interstate 20 in Douglasville, authorities said.

Steven Rose, 29, and his wife were riding west between Burnt Hickory Road and Fairburn Road when the car, also westbound, westbound car hit their motorcycle from behind. Both Rose and his wife, whose identity was not immediately available, were thrown off the bike.

Rose was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Douglas County coroner’s office. His wife was taken to Atlanta Medical Center, where authorities said she is in stable condition.

The driver of the car continued west on I-20, but was caught by police at Arbor Place Mall, about three miles away. Douglasville police are handling the investigation of the crash.
