Henry County zoning modification requests denied
A request to reduce minimum house size and change garage specifications was denied by commissioners.
The Henry County Board of Commissioners denied a request for a modification to zoning conditions for about 20 acres of properties in the Brightwood on the Lake subdivision off Turner Church Road.
The applicant, Liberty Communities LLC of McDonough, wanted to change the minimum house size from 2,500 square feet to 2,000 square feet. Also requested was the removal of a stipulation that designated side-entry garages as “standard” so that such garages could be built where feasible.
The vote to deny these requests was 6-0 and came at the board’s Nov. 27 regular meeting.
