Officials with Henry County Senior Services announced recently that Heritage Senior Center in McDonough will be closed through Monday, Jan. 6.

The two-week shutdown is for maintenance, specifically flooring work. It was determined that the extended holiday is the best time to do the work with minimal interruption of services, and officials said there should be little if any negative effect. Clients who regularly depend upon the county’s transit system for transportation to and from the center will be taken to the Locust Grove Senior Center for their normal activities.

The Locust Grove, Hidden Valley and Bear Creek senior centers will be open as usual except for the countywide holidays: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Seniors with their own transportation who typically use Heritage are invited to go to any of the three.
