Henry County libraries to stay open later two nights a week

July 23, 2010The Henry County library system is changing operating hours again.
Starting Sept. 7, libraries will be open noon to 8 p.m. Mondays and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays.
The county commission had urged the library board to keep libraries open a little later so commuters could go after work. In May the hours changed to 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Fridays.
The library board went from 58 to 36 hours a week because of a reduction in funding.
The county commission is asking residents to complete a survey about the new hours by going to the county government Web page, www.henrycounty-ga.org.
