Henry County board accepts donations for county agencies
The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted Jan. 16 to accept several donations for various public safety agencies and set in motion potential grant funds for transportation services.
Golf tournament participants raised $27,387 for the Henry County Fire Department. Tanger Outlet Center and its merchants donated $500 each to the fire and police department.
The commissioners passed resolution officially accepting each of those contributions. Two other resolutions approved the submittal of grant applications seeking funds for transportation services for elderly and disabled individuals through the Georgia Department of Human Services for the 2019 fiscal year, which begins July 1.
The first application is for $698,000 and the second is for $45,000.
