A Hall County deputy was killed Wednesday in a motorcycle wreck, authorities said.

Anthony Seda, 21, was traveling northbound on I-985 near Plainview Road when his motorcycle crashed around 7:30 p.m., the Hall County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. Seda was off-duty at the time and riding his personal motorcycle. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Seda had been with the sheriff’s office for about a year. He was assigned to the jail division and was scheduled to transfer to the uniform patrol division next week, the statement said. The accident is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.

Seda was a native of New Britain, Conn.

He  is survived by his parents, Rafael and Lourdes Seda of Flowery Branch; sisters, Jamie Johnson of Flowery Branch and Candice Alford of Gainesville; brothers, Cesar Rosado of Lawrenceville and Alex Rosado of Kansas; brother-in-law Matthew Johnson of Flowery Branch and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home in Gainesville. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
