A Lawrenceville salesman was being held Thursday on $200,000 bond in a Chicago suburb after allegedly posing as a lifeguard and offering swimming lessons to two girls and a woman, whom he sexually assaulted, according to local prosecutors.

Charles Smith, 55, was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Authorities in Elk Grove Village, a northwest suburb, said Smith was at a Ramada O'Hare hotel swimming pool when he offered swimming lessons to two girls, ages 10 and 11, who were attending a party, telling them he was a lifeguard. Police said he molested the girls and fondled a 27-year-old woman, whom he also told he was a lifeguard.

The hotel is near Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.

Smith appeared in Cook County court Wednesday. His next court appearance is Aug. 10 in Rolling Meadows.
