Six Gwinnett County Public Schools seniors have been awarded full college scholarships from the Posse Foundation, the district announced.

The Posse Foundation awards full scholarships to high achieving public high school students who “may be overlooked by traditional college selection processes.”

Once chosen, the students are put into groups of 10 called Posses at 57 colleges and universities across the country. Those “posses” are intended to provide a supportive group for students during their college years.

The six Posse Scholars from Gwinnett County Public Schools are:

Elizabeth Testamark, Collins Hill High School, attending the College of Wooster

Deborah Ayannusi, Dacula High School, attending Texas A&M University

Tsitsi Mambo, Dacula High School, attending Bard College

Ethan Strauther, Mill Creek High School, attending Boston University

Jerry Lu, Norcross High School, attending Boston University

Annisa Pannell, South Gwinnett High School, attending Texas A&M University

Last year, nine students from Gwinnett County Public Schools received Posse Scholarships. The Posse Foundation has chapters in 10 major U.S. cities, including Atlanta.
