Gwinnett Commissioners renewed an annual contract Tuesday with Corizon Health Inc. for inmate healthcare at the Gwinnett County Department of Corrections and Sheriff’s Department.

The $7.2 million contract will provide inmate healthcare services including medical, mental health, dental health care and psychiatric personnel and program support services for inmates.

The Department of Corrections portion of the contract represents $1,012,338 with the bulk of the services used by the Sheriff’s department at $6,187,282. The renewal is the fourth out of four options to renew.
